Danish premiere of the duo Mia Guldhammer & Morten Alfred Høirup

We had long looked forward to having to play the first concert with our new duo Mia Guldhammer and Morten Alfred Høirup, at Musik over Præstø Fjord Festival here in August.

We have both toured intensively this summer, Mia on a long tour around the Danish and Norwegian medieval and Viking markets, as well as a few international fantasy festivals, all with the band Virelai, and myself on two longer tours at venues and festivals in the American midwest, and on the Canadian east and west coast with respectively Jensen, Bugge & Høirup feat. Dwight Lamb, and co Scandinavian String Alliance. In other words, we have been busy!

On Friday 9 August we then met for a quick rehearsal in the living room of Anne Grete Kamilles and Søren Korshøj, before we went on stage in the Viseteltet at Music over Præstø Fjord, a festival that just happens every summer in Anne Grete and Søren's backyard.

The audience started arriving at the tent already during the sound check, and soon the house was full. It quickly turned out that people were in the mood to sing along, so it became one of those concerts where everything goes into a higher unity, and we subsequently got standing overs, and a good response in general from those present.
