Then it's finally time! Friday 11 August at 21:30 – 22:45, Mette Kathrine Jensen Stærk, Kristian Bugge and I play a five-quarter-long set in Danseladen on Music over Præstø Fjord.

We mix traditional Danish music with our own material, and arrange it all for a listening concert, but at the same time in a form so that it also works well for dancing.

Very often you see excellent dance orchestras that play one melody after another many times, without arranging it so that it is also interesting for people who may not dance themselves, but just like to listen to the music and watch the dancers on the floor.

Or a concert band that arranges lovely dance music for a concert, without thinking about tempi, rhythm, number of turns and available dance floor, which can make it difficult to dance to.

In Jensen & Bugge + Høirup, we all have roots in dance music, and we think it's super cool to play at a place like Musik over Præstø Fjord Festival, where with the Danseladen they have come up with a concept where you can dance freely, while at the same time around on the dance floor, a listening audience sits on benches that are built like in a theatre, or a circus if you like, that is, they rise up from the floor, so that you can see not only the dancers, but also the band playing.

We actually think the concept is so exciting that we get a cinematographer and director, Grete Marie Jensen, to film the concert, and Josh Strong to make sound and record the concert for later use.

We are very much looking forward and hope to see a lot of dancers, audience members and musicians at the dance concert. And now back to the rehearsal room - see you!

Thanks to Music over Præstø Fjord and DJBFA – Composers and Songwriters for trust, support and sparring.
