I am delighted that I can visit one of my absolute favorite festivals again this year. I've been visiting Halkær Folk & Roots Festival since it started more than 30 years ago, often with my family.
The festival runs from the 6th to the 9th of June, and I look forward to presenting bands such as Finnish JPP, Scottish Old Blind Dogs, Danish/Swedish/Belgian Spöket i Köket, Danish Mikael K & Landstrygerne, and Danish tone of voice, during what I'm sure will be another fantastic weekend Halkær Inn - Food and Culture House.
The festival takes place in the small town of Halkær, just 10 kilometers from Nibe, and I have heard that at the time of writing there are still tickets for sale. If you are into organic food, living nature, dancing, group singing and fantastic music, then now is the time to visit www.halkaer.dk and buy your tickets. And then the festival has a very special offer for young players, a so-called "Violin Ticket":
"This special ticket is for you who are under 30 years old and have a passion for folk music. Bring an instrument, your crisp voice or good dancing shoes and get access to all the festival's concerts and activities from Thursday to Sunday, free camping in a special area and opportunity to jam with like-minded people and the professionals"
I am very much looking forward to it. See you?
