Scandinavian String Alliance (SSA) is an international touring project created by two Scandinavian bands who play and sing traditional as well as newly composed songs and music from Denmark, Sweden & Norway.

The project puts the spotlight on the Scandinavian trio Mrs Skagerrak and the Danish duo Kristian Bugge & Morten Alfred Høirup, and their very personal ways of presenting the music of their homeland.

But as part of their show, the two bands also team up to present old Scandinavian banter, heartfelt love songs, mixed with good traditional dance music and catchy new compositions – all arranged for strings, flutes and vocals.

Bob Jensen, director of Jensen Music International, has Danish ancestors, and he is excited about the collaboration:

"I have followed the Danish roots music scene for more than 10 years, and I have always been impressed by the musicians' high level and integrity. In the Scandinavian String Alliance, several of Denmark's finest musicians meet with wonderful musicians from Sweden and Norway, and together they deliver a blast of a show, with Scandinavian songs and instrumental music. It is my proof that packages like this, is the best way to introduce Canadians to this music”

Scandinavian String Alliance and Jensen Music International are working on a longer tour in Canada in the summer of 2019.
