Morten Alfred & Ving\u00e5rden\u00a0<\/span><\/em>plays music primarily composed by Morten Alfred H\u00f8irup, processed and refined by the quartet, which consists of professional people from the Danish music scene. The repertoire consists of melodies that have matured on the Danish and international folk music scene, as well as new fresh compositions.<\/p>\n\n\n

Morten Alfred & Ving\u00e5rden is, in addition to Morten Alfred himself on guitar, harmonica and singing, a violinist and a folk musician. Christian Bugge,<\/em>\u00a0saxophonist Charlotte Andersson<\/em> and clarinetist Martin Strange Lorenzen<\/em>The four released the album The Harvest Festival<\/em> on the record label Go Danish Folk Music in late summer 2026.<\/p>\n

The music is written to be listened to as well as danced to, and the band likes to play for dancing, often in collaboration with their good friend and ally, Dansmaster. Henrik 'from Stevns' Larsen<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The songs are about the life we live, about sorrows and joys and fun and trouble. The trio's repertoire consists of titles such as Ingela's Waltz, <\/em>Waltz for an old Swedish lady<\/em>, My Orchestra<\/em>, New Bourr\u00e9e\/The Vineyard<\/em><\/span>, The Road I Walk, The Tale of the House by the Sea <\/em>and The Harvest Festival\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Morten Alfred has composed music since he was very young and has received, among other things, a\u00a0<\/span>Danish Music Award as\u00a0<\/span>Danish Folk Composer of the Year<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>in 2004. He published the sheet music collection in early summer 2022\u00a0<\/span>Ingela's Waltz \u2013 25 New Danish Folk Melodies<\/em><\/a>, which includes chord suggestions and stories about a long life journey with music.<\/p>\n

The sound of the winery is colored by the musicians' background in, among other things, traditional Danish folk music, baroque music, church music, skiffle music, wedding music and much more, and the quartet regularly plays at venues, festivals and in churches in Denmark and abroad.<\/p>\n

Charlotte Andersson: Saxophones, singing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is a trained saxophonist, singer and organist, and has, among other things, guest appearance in Det Kgl. Chapel, DR Symphony Orchestra and the Opera in Malm\u00f6. Andersson has toured with\u00a0<\/span>baroque music\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and recent compositional music in the Nordic countries, Great Britain, the USA, and South Korea. She helped start the Copenhagen Saxophone Quartet with whom she received the DR P2 Award in 2003 for best chamber music recording. She is also known for her work with the trio Petri-Fischer-Andersson (with recorder player Michala Petri and jazz guitarist Jacob Fischer), and with composer and jazz pianist Thomas Clausen.<\/p>\n

Kristian Bugge: Violin, singing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Was appointed in 2014 as a member of 'Danmarks Rigsspillem\u00e6nd', an exclusive association consisting of around a dozen fiddlers who have particularly distinguished themselves within the traditional Danish\u00a0<\/span>fiddler's music<\/em>. Kristian Bugge has received a number of awards, including DR's Radium Prize in 2004 and a Danish Music Award as 'Danish Folk Instrumentalist of the Year' in 2016. He tours extensively around the world, not least in the USA, with the accordion\/violin duos Gangspil and Jensen & Bugge. He also performs with Jagdselskabet, Wenzell & Bugge, and with the folk big band Det Yderste Hav.<\/p>\n

Morten Alfred H\u00f8irup: Guitar, harmonica, singing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Played from quite young in his father's\u00a0<\/span>wedding orchestra<\/em>, and gradually became part of the Danish and international folk music scene. For almost four decades, Morten Alfred has toured large parts of the world with traditional as well as new Danish music. In this connection, he has received a number of Danish Music Awards (10), including 'Danish Folk Composer of the Year 2004', and 'Traditions Award of the Year 2016' (together with Kristian, among others). Morten Alfred is probably best known for his work with the violin and guitar duo Haugaard & H\u00f8irup (1998 \u2013 2008), the folk\/world ensemble Himmerland (2010 \u2013 2015), and the Danish-Finnish-American trio American Caf\u00e9 Orchestra.<\/p>\n

Martin Strange Lorenzen: Clarinet, bass clarinet<\/strong><\/p>\n

Known as a truly competent, energetic and inspiring clarinetist, trained in traditional Danish folk music<\/em>, specializing in the big deep bass clarinet. Martin comes out over the edge of the stage, and where he is, something happens. He is also a skilled teacher and an engaging dance instructor. Martin plays all over the country, and in Sweden, Germany and the USA with bands such as Mads Hansens Kapel, Rune Barslund & Martin Strange Lorenzen Duo and with the duo Paganini (Kofoed & Strange)<\/p><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
