WHEN THE MUSIC GOES ITS OWN WAY!

Over the years, musicians and bands in various parts of the world have shown me the honor of recording and publishing my original compositions and melodies.

The English band 422 recorded and released 'Ringen/The Ring', another also English band, Kerfuffle, recorded 'Vingården/The Vineyard', German Fraunhofer Saitenmusik released on their album Drejzig (30), the melody 'Funeral March to a Kear Ven/Dänische Traurmarch', and a band from Texas, whose name I can't quite remember, released their version of 'Guest Messenger/The Feast'.

The group Pflantzplätz from Switzerland, the Canadian group Celtara, and German group Fiunferley have all recorded fine versions of 'Bjørnekæden', the latter on the album Rooted.

I composed the Bjørnekæden in 7/8 many years ago, and played it for my friend and colleague, Sonnich Lydom, who immediately composed a C piece. Another good friend and colleague, mandolin player and guitarist, John McGann from Boston, was super happy with the Bjørnekæden, and suggested a little rhythmic twist in the C piece, and many have struggled with that ever since.

Another German group, Fei Shou, have recorded 'Gæstebud/Feast' on their album Vom Landler zum Funk (2012), also released Finnish Häävi in 2013 their debut album, where you also find a very nice version of 'Gæstebud', and the Canadian band After that from Vancouver, released their own very beautiful version of 'Bjørnekæden' on their debut album, Ceremony, which was also released in early summer 2013.

The American violinist, Adrianna Ciccone, edition in 2015 his debut album that Bruce Molsky produced, and which, among other things, offers her interpretation of the melody "Lys Polska", which I composed, recorded and published with the duo Haugaard & Høirup many years ago.

In 2016 came the Canadian group Aerialists with their version of 'The Bear Chain', and it will be fun to see what happens next.

I'm of course very happy that other musicians and composers can use my music as part of their own repertoire, it's always fun and thought-provoking to hear other people's interpretations of one's music, and it's great that the music goes its own way that way , and reach a larger audience!

By the way, I have sheet music for most of my compositions, just let me know!
