If only I had wings…

Now finally comes the EP that the singer Mia Guldhammer and I recorded at Nørrebro in Copenhagen in December 2018. The record company Go Danish Folk Music publishes, and we are super proud of the result.

The album, which bears the title 'Havde jeg blot Vinger' after an old song from Fanø, consists of 5 songs. Here's an excerpt from the EP's liner notes:

Mia Guldhammer (Vocal, 'shruti box', percussion) & Morten Alfred Høirup (Vocal, guitar) are a brand new duo on the Danish folk music scene. Both are well known and respected for their work in bands such as Virelai, Mallebrok, Haugaard & Høirup and Himmerland, bands with whom they have toured over large parts of the world over the years.

Now the two have teamed up for something completely new on the international folk and world music scene, a mixture of old Danish songs and ballads, added to traditional Danish music, seasoned with their own melodies, and arranged for vocals, guitar, 'shruti box' and percussion .
