More than 500 happy people turned up in Vestervig Church, the largest village church in the Nordics, to pay tribute to accordion player Karl Skaarup, who celebrated his 85th anniversary as a fiddler on the first Saturday in October. For three hours, the old giant is celebrated with speeches, songs and music, led by conference host Alan Klitgaard. Orchestras and players from all over the country show their respect and share the stage with Skaarup, who also excites with a couple of very moving solo numbers.

After the many musicians and guests had played and sung Skaarup's waltz to his wife Lilly, the jubilee thanked them for the attention, and a large part of the participants went on to Hørdum Kro, where dinner and dancing were set up.
