At the beginning of March 2015, Himmerland will travel to Australia for the third year in a row. This time we are looking forward to presenting our new album, The Spider in the Fiddle, at a number of venues and festivals over the course of 14 days. It is about venues and festivals that we, for the most part, have never visited before, this applies to e.g. The Blue Mountain Music Festival in Katoomba, and the Port Fairy Folk Music Festival in Port Fairy.

We are very proud of The Spider in the Fiddle and the first reviews are starting to come in. Among other things. Jørgen Bogen from DR's online programme, Folk på 5éren, presented the album with the following words:

"It's been a very long time, if I'm honest, that I've been as excited about instrumental folk music as I have been about the new Himmerland CD."

In addition to the festival concerts, there will also be time for some club concerts, e.g. at the South Coast Folk Club in Adelaide, before the band heads home again, and prepares for concerts in, among other places Finland and the Faroe Islands.

Here you can see a brief glimpse by Himmerland at The National Folk Festival in the capital Canberra, Australia, in 2014.
