On 28 October 2017 at 11:30 – 14:00 I play a very special concert with the Danish violinist and fiddler Kristian Bugge and the American violinist and tradition bearer Jamie Fox in Farum Kulturhus.

We offer a unique concert experience consisting of a mix of traditional music from Denmark, Canada and the USA, seasoned with a few old Danish songs and a handful of new compositions. All conveyed with a twinkle in the eye and some good stories from life on the international folk and world music scene.

As early as the end of May and the beginning of July, we play a small handful of concerts in the northwestern part of the USA, follow the calendar on this website.

Here is some information about all three of us:

Kristian Bugge (b. 1979) has received a number of Danish Music Awards, including as Danish Folk Musician/Instrumentalist of the Year 2016. He is among the Danish fiddler who works with and immerses himself in traditional folk music and he tours large parts of Europe, the USA, Canada and South America, with Danish folk music.

Jamie Fox (b. 1989) is a Métis Indian and comes from the Fort Belknap reservation in Montana in the USA, where she was raised in a large and musical family. She has danced and played the violin since childhood and is highly respected for her work in spreading knowledge of the special musical tradition of the Métis Indians to the rest of the world.

Since 1985, Morten Alfred Høirup (b. 1961) has toured with various bands in Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. He has received a number of Danish Music Awards, including the prize for Danish Folk Composer of the Year 2004. Morten has played guitar and composed since he was a child, and in this way is also helping to renew Danish folk music.
