How nice it was to come home to Frederiksberg after 10 good days on tour in the USA – from the peaceful American west coast over the prairies in the north to the busy east coast.
On the trip I played together with violinist Kristian Bugge and, at some of the concerts, also with the American metis fiddler Jamie Fox.
It was a super good experience, we performed i.a. at the great NorthWest FolkLife Festival in Seattle, visited the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in Montana, and entertained at a glorious Constitution Day hosted by the folks at The Danish Home, a short hour's drive from New York City!
After four active years with tours etc., I have now stopped in the folk music trio Gangspil. Gangspil is a busy constellation that immerses itself in – and conveys – traditional Danish music, and after more than 50 concerts in the USA alone in 2016, I need to compose and work with my own music.
And now that we're talking folk music summer, during the month of July I'm going to the Faroe Islands together with Kristian Bugge and Mette Kathrine Jensen Stærk. There we will work with the dance and concert repertoire which we will subsequently video record on Music over Præstø Fjord on Friday 11 August 2017.
I am really looking forward to a continued wonderful summer in the world of music!!
