Just as Jensen & Bugge + Høirup are getting ready to tour Jutland on a small mini-tour this November, the news comes that our album "Slid din tid" has been nominated for a Danish Music Award in the "Traditions Prize" category.
DMA Folk 2015 starts on 28 November, and of course we think it's fantastic that our recording of music composed by Borcher Madsen, a "music director" from Nykøbing Falster, can excite people now 200 years after his birth. Here is a sample of reviews of the album:
"Thanks to rich arrangements, good and well-thought-out variation in the melody lines, cheeky harmonizations and more than just the usual we-play-to-ball routine, it's a nice little release, Mette Kathrine Jensen (accordion), Kristian Bugge (violin) and Morten Alfred Høirup (guitar) has played here on the occasion of the extremely productive Borcher Madsen's 200th birthday. And who was he? Yes, a real fiddler and ballroom composer (1815-1897) from Lolland-Falster, who apparently just shook the good melodies out of the boxed sleeve – waltzes, hopsaes, polkas, etc. Some of them even in minor keys, it gives them a slightly mournful character, which the trio here so brilliantly knows how to give breadth and life to. Sit down and enjoy or out on the floor!" - Mikael Krarup Fyens Stifttidende
