Sonnich Lydom on harmonica and harmonica, Kristian Bugge on violin and myself on guitar and singing, on 4 February 2014 visit the small island, Læsø, which is located in northernmost Denmark, in the Kattegat approximately midway between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg. Here we will perform in the little yellow Østerby Church with our program of traditional Danish music and songs, a program we have put together on the occasion of the candlelight mass.

It is only our third concert with this small trio, and I am very much looking forward – not only to playing with the trio, but equally to visiting Læsø, where I have never played before. It's one of the privileges we have as players: we get around a lot and visit a lot of fantastic people and communities, and Læsø has been on my wish list for a long time. And shouldn't we have just looked at a few of the famous Læsø melodies before the concert?

Click here and watch Lydom, Bugge & Høirup play a couple of rather unknown traditional Danish reels in the streets of Copenhagen, only interrupted by a lady in pink who is very happy with the music.
