THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD!

It came like a bolt from the blue when I won the Player of the Year Award at Music over the Præstø Fjord Festival in August. I myself was present at the presentation during the festival, but it was now to cover the event for Radiofolk.dk.

I then just had to pass the microphone on to my colleague, Erling Olsen, when I suddenly discovered that it was me they were talking about up there, and that I had to go up and receive the award. Here is a small quote from Lene Buch's motivation:

"For over 20 years he has been here - there and everywhere. As a musician, he is eminent on his instrument, the guitar. As a composer, he has a large number of lovely melodies "on his conscience". He plays in countless orchestras and tours all over the world. He is well-known and highly respected among musician colleagues and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic – he conveys his music and song with warmth and humor – and is a fantastic storyteller.”

Thank you for the beautiful words, and for the statuette, which I only got to take a picture of late in the evening when I had finished making the radio. The moody one!
